VOICES for JUSTICE

Thursday, April 18, 2024

Half Acre
112 Munro St, South Melbourne VIC 3205

6:30 PM Cocktail Reception | 7:15 PM Dinner and Program

We invite you to join us on Thursday, April 18, 2024, for our Voices for Justice Annual Dinner in Melbourne and become part of a global community dedicated to protecting and defending human rights, and celebrating those who speak out where there is silence. Celebrating the work of Human Rights Watch, the Voices for Justice Annual Dinner will be a uniquely Melbourne event: the best food and wine, inspiring entertainment, and extraordinary stories about the work of Human Rights Watch.

At the heart of our Voices for Justice Annual Dinner is a shared commitment to creating the future we want to see. Whether you are an existing supporter of Human Rights Watch keen to do more or are new to our work and want to learn how you can be a force for good in the world, we hope you will host a table and invite family, friends, and colleagues to share this magical evening.

Human Rights Watch defends the rights of people in over 90 countries, spotlighting abuses and bringing perpetrators to justice. We do not accept government funding and rely 100% on the generosity of private individuals, corporations, and foundations worldwide. Your support makes a real difference.

HUMAN RIGHTS CHAMPION $100,000
$96,150 tax deductible donation, $3,850 table cost

Human Rights Watch has been on the ground in Ukraine since the start of the conflict. We released over 90 reports, press releases and videos within the first six months, providing hard proof of Russian war crimes and alerting millions of people globally.

  • An invitation to a one-on-one private briefing with a member of Human Rights Watch international senior executive staff.
  • Opportunity to have a Human Rights Watch researcher/senior staff member seated at your table.
  • An invitation to lunch in Melbourne with Human Rights Watch’s Australia Researcher and Director.

In 2017, satellite imagery retrieved by Human Rights Watch showed the near total destruction of 214 villages in Myanmar’s Rakhine State and the Myanmar military’s campaign of ethnic cleansing and acts of genocide. These atrocities forced over 400,000 Rohingya Muslims to flee to neighbouring Bangladesh.

To thank you for your support, we would like to provide the following opportunities:

  • Opportunity to have a Human Rights Watch researcher/senior staff member seated at your table.
  • An invitation to lunch in Melbourne with Human Rights Watch’s Australia Researcher and Director.
  • An invitation to a one-on-one private briefing with Australia Director Daniela Gavshon.
  • An invitation to participate in exclusive private briefings with Human Rights Watch staff on mission-related topics.
  • Recognition in the AV materials, in the official event programme and on the donation pledge device.

In 2019, Human Rights Watch led the #FreeHakeem campaign by developing online platforms, paying for extensive social media and generating captivating online content. This alerted thousands of people to the plight of the Bahrani-Australian refugee footballer, Hakeem al-Araibi, and used this public support to successfully advocate for Hakeem’s return back to Australia.

To thank you for your support, we would like to provide the following opportunities:

  • Opportunity to have a Human Rights researcher/senior staff member seated at your table.

I cannot attend but would like to make a 100% tax-deductible contribution
