San Francisco Annual Gathering: Meeting the Moment

Benefiting Human Rights Watch

Thursday, May 2, 2024
The Pearl
601 19th St, San Francisco, CA 94107
6:00 PM Cocktail Reception | 7:00 PM Program

We invite you to join us on Thursday, May 2nd for a special evening benefiting Human Rights Watch. Celebrating the remarkable work of the last year and looking ahead to the future, our Executive Director Tirana Hassan will share her vision for the organization and human rights globally.

Joining Tirana will be Sam Dubberley, sharing how the Digital Investigations Lab is transforming the method, breadth, and depth of HRW's research.

At the heart of Human Rights Watch is a shared commitment to creating the future we want to see. Whether you are an existing supporter of Human Rights Watch keen to learn or do more, or whether you are new to our work and want to find out how you can be a force for good in the world, we hope you will join us and share this magical evening.

Human Rights Watch defends the rights of people in over 90 countries, spotlighting abuses and bringing perpetrators to justice. We do not accept government funding and rely 100% on the generosity of private individuals, corporations and foundations worldwide. Your support makes a real difference.

HUMAN RIGHTS ADVOCATE $20,000 each
Includes 10 tickets

$18,750 tax deductible donation, $1,250 ticket cost

A major commitment to defending the rights of all. This level of support can transform the tech tools available to Human Rights Watch in exposing human rights abuses. The Digital Investigations Lab is using methodologies such as satellite imagery analysis to track the destruction of villages, reconstruct sites of attacks using 3D models, and mine big data for patterns in arrest rates or the deportation of immigrants.

To thank you for your support, we invite you to join us for:

  • Exclusive private briefings with Human Rights Watch staff on mission-related topics
  • Recognition in all materials used on the night

HUMAN RIGHTS PROTECTOR $10,000 each
Includes 10 tickets

$8,750 tax deductible donation, $1,250 ticket cost

Vital support from those committed to making a difference. This level of donation to Human Rights Watch can fund a photographer or videographer to visually document the research findings for a multimedia piece. Such tools were used in our recent major project launch “Our City Was Gone”, documenting Russia’s destruction of Mariupol. Multimedia pieces contributed to a 22-minute film on the devastation of the city by Russian forces.

To thank you for your support, we invite you to join us for:

  • Quarterly briefing releases mailed to your doorstep
  • Recognition in all materials used on the night

HUMAN RIGHTS GUARDIAN $5,000 each
Includes 8 tickets

$4,000 tax deductible donation, $1,000 ticket cost

Steadfast support for our critical work, which can provide researchers with the resources they need to do their jobs. This level of donation supports a week-long fact-finding mission for a researcher, like those responding to crises in Sudan, Ukraine, or Israel/Palestine.

  • Includes recognition in all materials used on the night.

HUMAN RIGHTS DEFENDER $2,500 each
Includes 6 tickets

$1,750 tax deductible donation, $750 ticket cost

Crucial support for our work enables our media team to reach millions of people every year. An investment in HRW at this level provides the resources needed to analyze our audiences, extend our reach, and tailor our messaging.

  • Includes recognition in all materials used on the night.

HUMAN RIGHTS ALLY (INDIVIDUAL TICKET) $200 each
$75 tax deductible donation, $125 ticket cost

I cannot attend but would like to make a tax deductible contribution.

We are grateful to our generous event sponsors. Any amount given above the ticket cost is tax deductible, and sponsors can always donate unused tickets back to HRW.

If you wish to make a pledge and pay by check or other means, please select the ‘pledge’ option under ‘payment type’ on the payment page.
